We're looking for a strong candidate with substantial Machine Learning background:
The Machine Learning Data Scientist will perform statistical analysis, data modeling, clustering and predictive analysis. As a key member of the technical team, you will leverage your statistical expertise to translate business questions into sophisticated models and help derive new insights to drive the business. You will be working with various data sets and service and product teams to create complete and holistic analyses, with great responsibility. You will help create an elaborate model focusing on individual subscribers' demographics and history that will predict their risk of disconnect, openness to new services and additional business questions. You are the domain expert of machine learning algorithms for the data science team and will assist the rest of the team with the various projects underway.
With big data (500+ terrabytes), alongside traditional databases, get ready to dig in!
Are you up for the challenge?
•BS/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar (MS/MA/PhD preferred). Magna cum laude – an advantage.
•Excellent analytical skills, with 4+ years of working experience in the data and analytics landscape.
•Excellent knowledge of advanced machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, clustering, multivariate regression, logistic regression, time series analysis and other statistical analysis techniques. Also has prior experience of implementing this knowledge in a business environment.
•Experience working with large datasets, data processing and querying methods in relational databases as well as Big data
•Experience with R or Matlab
•Exemplary oral and writing communication skills with a demonstrated track record of effectively presenting to technical & non-technical audiences in English.
•A dedicated self-starter, organized with great time management skills.
•Can work independently given abstract tasks, understand the business relevance and provide recommendations based on the data.
Preferences
•Exposure to the Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop, HDFS, Pig, Hive, Cascalog, etc).
•Proficient in at least one scripting languages (python, Perl, etc).
•Availability to work late evenings part of the week to collaborate with US counterparts
•Native English speaker
